The programme is under the patronage of the German Chancellor and also incorporates an intensive language course in Germany, a four-week introductory seminar in Bonn and Berlin, a study trip around Germany and a final meeting in Berlin. The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) for Young Professionals is a work/study scholarship program. Funded by the U.S. Congress and German Parliament (Bundestag), the program consists of two months of German language instruction (no prior German knowledge required), a semester at a German university or vocational school, and an internship in the participant's career field, all while living with a German host or in a shared-apartment. The Internship Program in Germany provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain international work experience in Germany, improve their German language skills and experience German culture firsthand. Internship placements are available in a variety of fields, including, but not limited to business, engineering, finance, tourism, IT, media/communications, international relations, the nonprofit sector, German studies and economics. Most internships are paid and scholarships are available to qualified participants who receive unpaid internships. EMGIP (Émigré Memorial German Internship Program) offers internship opportunities for U.S. and Canadian students in the German parliament, the Bundestag. The internships are two months long in positions matching the student’s interest and experience. Interns will be placed within the Verwaltung, preferably with a Sekretariat working for their preferred Ausschuss. In addition to contributing to the respective offices, interns have the opportunity to study legislative and administrative procedures in the German parliament. The program developed by the DAAD and the Freie Universität Berlin, provides outstanding young journalism and communications students with an opportunity to immerse themselves in the society, culture, values and political attitudes in Germany. Participants spend six weeks at the Freie Universität Berlin for a series of full-day seminars on German politics, culture and media. They subsequently embark on an intensive five-week internship with a German newspaper, magazine, radio station or PR agency. RISE is a summer internship program for undergraduate students from the United States, Canada, and the UK in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences, and engineering. It offers unique opportunities for undergraduate students to work with research groups at universities and top research institutions across Germany for a period of two to three months during the summer. Highly qualified undergraduate students are invited to apply for scholarships funding study, senior thesis research and/or internships in Germany. The goal of this program is to support study abroad in Germany and at German universities.
